Is 2" Difference in Trailer Coupler Height Okay for Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution

Published 01/31/2023

Question:

I have a Blue Ox Sway pro with a 7 hole 2” shank. When the ball is mounted on the lowest hole, there is still a two inch difference too high for my camper to remain perfectly level as it is when it is off the ball. Will that impact the sway control? Or should I get the 9 hole shank so I can keep it perfectly level. How much wiggle room is there? I have a TV that exceeds the tongue wt by 2x so there is very little movement of the truck when I hitch up.

Thanks for reaching out!

The biggest difference between hitch receiver height and trailer coupler height is 1", so for your application I do recommend using the 9-hole shank # BXW4002 so you can get to that level setup.

Keeping the trailer level is the best way to get the best tracking and towing performance from your trailer which is why I recommend going this route instead of being a little nose-high for your trailer tongue.

Attached is a review video for you to check out.
