Replacement Leaf Spring for Dexter 248744

Question:

I have a dexter 248744 axle on my 5er and it says 4400 lb cap. Now the leaf springs for dexter are expensive and tough to find but Lipert says a 129745 will work and has 1 more leaf. it is rated for only 1750 not 2200. your thoughts and what do you have?

I did some research and it looks like the spring you need is 26 inches long and for a 4,400 lb trailer axle like you mentioned. We have a really easy solution for that with the part # e27SR which is 26 inches long and for a 4,500 lb trailer axle so it would be perfect. This is a 6 leaf spring so it might very slightly change ride height of the trailer but not to a significant amount.
