Question:

i have a 2005 Honda pilot. my hybrid trailer has ~600lbs tongue weight. will the air lift 1000 support that at max 35lbs air pressure?

The rear-axle air bag kit you referenced, AirLift 1000 Helper Spring # AL60815, provides up to 1000-lbs of load leveling at its maximum pressure rating of 35-lbs psi. Your trailer with approximately 600-lb tongue weight would certainly fall within the operating range for this product.

If you are towing often and frequently have widely varying trailer weights then an adjustable air bag kit like this AirLift 1000 is a good choice for adding rear-end support. If your trailer weight is fairly consistent then you might instead consider a simpler-to-install jounce spring kit. We offer two such kits, from Timbren and Super Springs, parts # THROD2 and # CSS-1125R, both of which will fit your 2005 Pilot.

The Timbren springs # THROD2 bolt on in place of the factory bumps stops, no drilling required. The SuperSprings # CSS-1125R insert between the turns of the rear coil springs, also without drilling or tools, and without removal of any OEM components.

The advantages of these passive systems is that they offer much simpler installation and zero maintenance. These products self-adjust dynamically based on their load, becoming progressively stiffer as more weight is added. Air bags must be manually adjusted for different loads unless used along with a compressor/controller such as the AirLift # AL25592. For air bag installation we suggest using air line cutter # AL10530 which helps make perfectly square cuts for the best possible seal.

Please note that none of these products will increase your Pilot weight-carrying capacity, which will remain as specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Installation instructions for all three kits are included for your reference along with an article that details Timbren systems.
