Troubleshooting 2022 Ram 1500 Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Not Folding Correctly

Question:

Good AM, I have an Extang Solid Fold 2.0 tonneau cover on my 2022 RAM 1500 5.7 liter engine short cab truck. I bought this truck this past October. This afternoon when I tried to fold the first panel tail part of the truck it would no longer fold down to the middle panel. It was not like this, when I use it yesterday. I had to push 2 panels together to gain access to the cab. Need help on what happened to it???

You definitely don't want to be forcing the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover, like part EX35MR for a 2022 Ram 1500 5-1/2' bed, open so we want to check your hinge seal to see if that needs to be replaced.

Check to see if the seal that fills the gap between the panel and hinge is coming out of the cover, making sure there also isn't anything in the hinge that's causing it to bind. If the hinge is damaged from it not being properly secured prior to driving off then you'll need to replace it with the part # EX83425-64. This is for the 5-1/2' bed and no RamBox. If you have something else please let me know.

Attached are the instructions for removing and replacing the hinge seal for you to check out.
