With so many different opinions on what fits and what does not fit on the TDI which options are the best fit for a hitch and wiring harness for a 2009 jetta sedan TDI?

I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24866 for your 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. The Curt hitch is not confirmed to fit the TDI model of your Jetta. The Draw-Tite hitch has a bolt-on installation with no welding required and has a black powder coated finish that offers a superior rust protection.

For the wiring harness you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118667. I like the T-One harness over the other harnesses that we offer because it has a more reliable powered converter box and will last longer and give you more usage than the other harnesses. You will also need the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3593 and the 2 inch Hitch Ball # 19258 or the 1-7/8 inch hitch ball # 19256.
