Does Flat Towing 2022 Chevy Spark Require Disconnecting Battery With Brake Buddy Stealth

I have just finished the install on my new 2022 Chevy Spark with a BX1725 Baseplate, Brake Buddy Stealth, and the Roadmaster smart diode tail lights wiring hook up. Everything is working properly. Thanks in advance for your help suggesting the parts needed for this flat tow. My question is this... On my previous 2015 Spark with the same parts except smart diodes I would hook the car up, turn the key to the 2nd position the position before on and go. My new 2022 Chevy Spark owners manual says to disconnect the negative battery post. Im assuming this because of battery drain. But is this disconnect actually necessary with the Stealth braking system having the battery maintainer and the brake system vacuum pump? Thanks!

Yes, even with the Brake Buddy Stealth # HM39530 you should disconnect the battery on your 2022 Chevy Spark before flat towing it. Even with a battery maintainer the battery can and will still run down. I know this can be a pain but disconnecting the battery can be made much simpler with the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766.
