Question:

My 2022 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS has a 136 inch slide box which I want to put a slide out awning over. This slide is on the curb side of the 5th wheel. There is a secondary awning attached to the slide, and the main/over the door awning arm is within 3 inches of the slide that I want to put a topper onto. I am planning to purchase a Solera LCV000168328 topper. I am struggling to decide where to place the topper access plates. Is there a special access plate designed for the limited space that I have to mount?

Thanks for that photo it was super helpful, and let's start with the easiest thing first, which is the 3 inches of clearance you have on the sides. Since slide toppers need 7 inches of clearance on the sides, what you will need to do is order the next size down instead of the 139" # LCV000168328. Your slide topper will still have plenty of coverage over your slide, but this will allow you the clearance from the awning rail; so what you need is the following:

- Solera RV Slide-Out Awning - 11'1" Wide # LCV000184673

Then, for the access plates, there isn't one designed for limited space, but the access plates can actually be installed directly on the T-molding, above where your current awning is. Just keep in mind, per the installation manual, "If mounting the Solera Slide Topper access plate on the T-molding, the awning rail must be a minimum of 4-1/2” to 7-1/2” maximum above the T-molding of the slide room."

So as long as you can install the awning rail between 4-1/2" and 7-1/2" above the T-molding, you will have room for both your pre-existing awning and # LCV000184673 slide topper.
