Question:

When flat towing the Canyon, the vehicle battery must be disconnected by removing the negative post clamp. Is there a different wiring diagram for the Brake Buddy to accommodate the vehicle battery disconnect or should the Brake Buddy still function as designed if I follow the standard wiring diagram as provided in the installation manual?

You will want to follow the same wiring instructions. The Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System item # HM39524 includes a wiring kit that wires directly to your battery. This portable braking system is designed for flat towed vehicles like your 2022 Canyon that require you to disconnect the battery which kills your 12v plug.

This wiring kit will also prevent your battery from dying while towing. Some of the accessory functions on your Canyon will still work and draw power even when your battery is disconnected.
