Question:
I need to replace all four drums and brake hardware for my 2018 kz sportsman. It has low miles but after trip to Yellowstone from California I checked them and all four are drums are damaged and brake shoes are shot. Trailer only has approximately 4000 miles on it so how long should I expect the new parts to last? The drums it came with were Lippert 126003.

Expert Reply:
The Lippert 126003 is a 3,500 pound hub/drum and has a bolt pattern on 5 on 4-1/2 inches. The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K will be the replacement you will need.
The hub and drum has an Inner Bearing # L68149 and an Outer Bearing # L44649. The bearings, races, grease seals, grease caps, and lug nuts are included. The hubs bearings on your trailer should be repacked and replaced every 12 months or at 12,000 miles whichever one comes first.
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA will work with the hubs mentioned above. The brakes have a 10 inch diameter and are 2-1/4 wide. They will fit wheel sizes 13 inch, 14 inch, and 15 inch. The have a 4 bolt mounting flange bolt pattern.
