I really like the Stealth hitches because they install behind the rear bumper and have a completely removable receiver. This allows you to retain the factory appearance when you are not towing. This hitch does include the ball and ball mount you will need to tow along with a 2" x 2" receiver for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers.

The wiring harness that is included is a 4-flat so to add a 7-Way you will need the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation item # ETBC7L. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.

To operate your tear trailer's brakes you will need a brake controller. There is only one option for a brake controller on your Tesla and it is the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller item # C51180. The Echo plugs directly into your Tesla's 7-Way connector and allows you to control the settings through an app on your phone. The Echo is also a proportional brake controller that slows or stops your trailer when your Tesla decelerates. It uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone so you will never have to worry about losing signal driving through the mountains in Tennessee. If your phone dies it automatically uses the default settings you program in.
