Question:
Got a 2022 Ford F150 Xlt with no trailer package, but I do have a 4 pin flat connector. My aford dealership has no idea how to connect into the factory wiring harness and no aftermarket parts are available to turn this into a 7 pin plug and hook up trailer brakes. Can you please assist. I understand wiring and can cut and solder into factory harness if need be

We hear this complaint from Ford owner's often and there is a solution for you. Since your 2022 Ford F-150 has a 4-way connector all you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7.
The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your F-150 with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. You will just need to wire in a ground, power wire, and your brake controller wire.
For a traditional wired in brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller item # RED44FR. The Redarc has a unique installation method as the main unit can be concealed behind the dash out of sight and the only visible part is the nickel sized control knob.
I saw you were looking at the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller item # C51180. If you want to go this route you will need the item # ETBC7L. This harness will only work with wireless brake controllers because it does not have the blue wire that runs to the cab.
