Can hardwired 50 amp hu27fr be installed after auto transfer switch to check power from shore power

Expert Reply:
I suppose you can put the Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth and Emergency Shut Down # HU27FR after the transfer switch, but this is really intended to prevent surge damage from the shore power connection to begin with so if you install it after the transfer switch you would risk surge damage to the transfer switch itself and potentially your generator. Because of this I recommend installing it before the transfer switch - generators don't pose nearly as much of a threat as the shore power connection.
