The Replacement Magnet Kit for 12" Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies # AKBRKR-M12 that you mentioned is 1" thick, and measures 2" long and is 3-1/8" wide.

The brake pads on the 12" Dexter Electric Drum Brake Kit #23-180-181 are 3/16" thick. Dexter Axle recommends replacing them once they get down to 1/16" thick.
