Towing Equipment Needed for a 2015 Mazda 3 Hatchback

Hello! I need to purchase a hitch and necessary accessories including wiring for my 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback. It will be for hauling a 700lb pull-behind tear camper. Can you tell me what I need to buy please? I am overwhelmed by the options. Thanks!

I would be happy to help you. To add a hitch, capable of towing a 700 lbs tear camper, to your 2015 Mazda 3 Hatchback you will want the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7305. This hitch is custom fit for the hatchback model and bolts in behind the rear bumper for a clean install. This will be a great hitch for towing as it has a 2" receiver which will give you the highest capacity available.

You will also need the Hopkins item # HM11141824 to control your trailer's lighting functions. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
