Question:
We just ordered our first Airstream Bambi 16rb and just bought 2 e-bikes wed like to take with us on our new journeys. Can anyone tell us what options we have for the e-bikes as we would ideally like to not store them inside the Bambi as we know it will increase our weight and wed rather not do that. Is there some way to put them on the rear of the Bambi, and if so, how??? I also dont understand what it might mean if we were to somehow get a rack that would go on the A-frameinch of the hitch and the significance of the tow weight. Thanks in advance!

The absolute best way to carry your e-bikes outside at the rear of your new Airstream Bambi 16rb is by the use of a hitch receiver. While we do not carry custom-fit options, we do have some universal options that will do the trick. For those options, I suggest either of the following:
- Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop # C13701
- Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703
These hitches come with adjustable brackets to accommodate your frame width. The # C13701 comes with brackets that adjust between 18"-51" while the brackets on the # 13703 adjust between 22" to 72" wide. The Curt also comes with a 2" drop of you need the receiver to be closer to the ground. I recommend measuring the width of your frame from left to right to make sure these options work.
For carrying the bikes, you need a bike rack that is compatible with the increased torque and force at the rear of your trailer. I recommend the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. This rack is constructed for brute strength and comes with an impressive 70-pound weight capacity. If you happen to have step-thru bikes, you need a bike frame adapter # 64005 to attach to the ratcheting hooks of the E-Spec. Also, if you have fat tires between 3-5" wide, you need the fat tire cradles # S64679.
As far as determining your tow weight, the combined weight of the 60 pound E-Spec and your bikes contributes to the overall gross vehicle weight rating of your trailer.
I went ahead and attached some helpful product videos to help guide you.
