Question:

I plan on installing your Yakima roof rack #yo1-140b. I have a snugtop shell on 2018 ram 1500. My qusestion is the shell has a 1/2 inch honeycomb reinforcement on roof area. Do I install the rails through the reinforcement or do I install just outside this area. I am going to get a Tepui Ayer RTT, weight about 105lbs. It will just be me in the tent, about 220 lbs.

The part # Y01-140B is a Rhino Rack HD roof rack setup for camper shells but you most likely are referring to the Yakima HardTop SL Roof Rack # Y01618. Either way you'd want to install the tracks to the outsides of the support area you mentioned. Either of these racks would easily handle the weight of the tent you mentioned
