How to Get Malone Kayak Carriers w/ T-slot Fit Kit to Slide Into the Channels of a Roof Rack

I have a 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness and recently purchased the Malone Airflow roof rack and T slot kit. I already own the Malone downloader kayak carriers. I have the rack installed and the T slot kit installed on the kayak carrier but cannot figure out how to slide the accessories onto the racks. The rubber gasket is so tight, the carrier pushes the gasket versus slide on top. Can I use WD40 or similar without ruining the gasket in the T slot?

In order to use your Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier # MPG114MD with T-Slot Fit Kit # MPG8287 in the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG216 you will need to remove the rubber stripping (gasket) in the T-slot channel.
You can remove, trim, and re-insert the strips around the mounting hardware of your accessories to keep the crossbar channel capped and quiet.
I have included a picture that shows what the channels will look like with the strip removed and the carrier with fit kit installed.
