Question:
I had a equal-i-zer brand on my last trailer but sold it with unit. I now have purchased a old 26ft trailer to be pulled with my 2014 chevy 1500 crewcab. Do the chain hitches work as good or should I go back to the equal-i-zer or another brand?

Expert Reply:
I do not feel that the chain style weight distribution hitches work as well as the Equal-i-zer style systems. Most chain style hitches require you to use a separate sway bar to prevent sway and it must be removed while maneuvering. The Equal-i-zer is built in and you will not need to remove any parts to back up or maneuver your trailer. While there are systems similar to the Equal-i-zer their build quality and reputation speak for themselves. And you are getting a hitch that is made in the USA with a lifetime warranty standing behind it. Here is a list of Equal-i-zer hitches with their weight ratings.
