Is the Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Compatible With 2020 Honda Pilot

Is the Liberty unit safe when wired with the recommended etrailer Honda wiring harness? Curious if using the Libertys manual brake application by pressing the button is safe for the Hondas electrical system or if addition components or special wiring is needed? It is unclear from articles Ive read if this could damage the canbus system.

Yes, the Liberty # RED24FR is perfectly compatible with your 2020 Honda Pilot. It sounds like you have the tow package and want to use the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED59FR for installation. If not, you will need the # RED69FR instead.
Since you're worried about the CAN bus system I also recommend using the 30-Amp Circuit Breaker Kit for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, Classic, and Liberty Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-CBK30-EB for installation. This will protect your vehicle's wiring when install the brake controller by using the 30-Amp breaker to prevent overloads.
