Question:
I need a wire harness for my 2016 Honda Pilot , Must be a 7 pin and have the ability to add a break controller later on if desired. I am confused and dont know what wire harness to order, please help! I think I found the white plastic receiver in the rear of the vehicle left behind the panel will a harness for a seven pin plug into that? also I see a receiver under the front dashboard above the emergency brake Im guessing thats where you plug in break controller...

The Tekonsha # 118286 is the 7-way wiring harness I'd recommend. Your Pilot is already prewired for a brake controller, so once the 7-way is installed as shown in the linked video, you can install a brake controller later using the connector located under the dash near the top of the brake pedal as shown in the provided photo.
Once you decide to get a brake controller, I'd recommend a proportional controller like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty, part # RED24FR. You'll also need the # RED59FR brake controller harness. The Tow Pro Liberty is a remote operated controller that features a control box that can be mounted out of sight under the dash. You'll control the trailer brakes via a knob that can be mounted anywhere within the drivers reach. For a factory appearance, you can use a mounting bezel like part # 331-TPSI-002 if there's an un-used switch knock-out available in the dash. If there isn't a knock-out available, you can simply mount the knob to the dash but dress it up a bit by using a universal bezel like # 331-TPSI-001.
.
You'll also need a bracket setup to mount the 7-way. If your hitch already has a stand-off extending rearward to mount a bracket to, you'll just need a mount like part # PK12711U. If you don't have the built-in bracket on the hitch, you'll also need a # 18136 no-drill bracket.
