Will XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Fit 3 Inch Hitch Receiver

Question:

the SHP2040XL says its for 2 1/2 inch receiver I want to take the sleeve out so I need a anti rattle pin for 3 inch receiver. Others have asked the same question and you keep recommending this pin but it states for 2 1/2 hitch, will it work with true 3 inch ??? I recently ordered the Gen y GH 023 and it does NOT work for hollow shank! Thanks for your help

The Gen-Y Iron Grip Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin # GY49FR (part GH-023 you mentioned) is designed for solid shanks but the XL Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches # SHP2040-XL uses that block that sits inside a hollow shank so the shank is puled tight to the side of the receiver. The usable pin length of this part is 3-7/8" which should be more than enough for your 3" receiver but it doesn't hurt to double check on your end.
