Display of Dexter 58-8 DX 2 Predator Brake Controller Lights Up Without Trailer Connected
Published 04/06/2022 >
Question:
I was wondering when my truck is off with no trailer and the brakes are pushed should it light up anything on the display. I just installed this and was checking to see if I had it set up right, well with the truck either on or turned off this display lights up .0 when you pressed the breaks with no trailer hooked up, is that supposed to happen?

According to Dexter Axle, it's perfectly normal for the display to light up and display .0 when a trailer isn't connected.
This will happen regardless of if the vehicle is running, as the controller has a constant 12V connection to the vehicle battery.
