Will this hitch stow out of the way of the fancy tailgate on the new GMC pickup or should I get the 7 inch?

For your 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited with the Multi-Pro tailgate you will want the Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BW49FR for a 4-1/2" drop. This mount is specifically designed for the Multi-Pro tailgate and will allow you to leave the ball mount in place with the balls placed in the stored position.

The B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS10048B that you found sticks out to far as it is designed to fit a variety of vehicles and will contact your tailgate.

The 7" Drop # BWTS20067BMP for the Multi-Pro tailgate will only fit the HD trucks with the 2-1/2" receiver.
