Question:
I have a 2022 Subaru Outback and just installed the Prodigy RF brake controller. Immediately after installation, the hand held module paired as directed the first time. We stopped for the night and the next morning and ever since then my handheld will not pair. It just shows ce. I cant even get the other letters and numbers I was supposed to get when I did initial pairing. If I press the override and boost button I do get a flashing pa but then it goes back to ce.

If your Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller w/ Bluetooth # TK94FR is getting a "CE" error, that can indicate that the unit wasn't paired properly, their might have been loss of battery power from the tow vehicle, or there is loss of RF communication, signal or interference.
I recommend attempting to repair the unit once more using the following steps:
1.Connnect the RF to the tow vehicle, and leave the trailer disconnected.
2. Plug the remote into the cigarette lighter.
3. Turn the gain to minimum, which may cause the display to show NC rather than 0.0 as the instructions indicate.
4. Press and hold the boost and manual buttons at the same time, the display will count down from P5 to PA.
5. When the display shows PA, release the buttons and depress the brake pedal within one second.
Your controller should now show 0.0, and be paired correctly.
If you try this, and are still having issues, I recommend checking your electrical connections with a circuit tester # PTW2993 for a short.

I’m getting a c.E (blinking). I’ve tried pairing the vehicle without the trailer plugged in and it will not stop blinking. And does not pair. I checked if the two ends of the plug were continuous. All checked out continuous except one which was “open”.
