Replacement 7-Way Cable for a Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller

Question:

I have a prodigy RF brake controller. I need to replace the 7 pin cable going from the controller to the tow vehicle. Can I take the top off of the module and just replace the entire cable with a new one? If yes, do you have some instructions on how to do this.

Yes, you can but I am sorry we do not have instructions on how to do this. It looks like a pretty easy process to open up the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller and replace the cable. It comes with an 8' long 7-Way and the best replacement option is going to be item # H20046.

Can you tell me what type of screw driver head I need to open the module, it's not a phillips

@Joe Sure can! It looks like a Torx fitting with a star-shaped pattern. I am not sure on what size you need though.

@JerredH I've been trying to do this. I haven't been able to get the torx screws out as it appears they might be glued. Their customer support is telling me that its not made to be repaired and taken apart. So I'd love to know if anyone has actually been able to do this.
