I have a great solution for you to use a hitch step with your 2-1/2" hitch. Unfortunately, while we do not have any hitch steps that fit a 2-1/2" hitch, I recommend using the Hitch Stair with 2 Steps for 2" Trailer Hitches
Item # RHS2 along with the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # BWRHXA2182. With this setup, the reducer sleeve transforms your 2-1/2" receiver to a 2" receiver in order to use the # 288-08400. Using the reducer will not decrease the overall weight capacity of your hitch receiver.
