Yes, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98840 will fit on your 2022 Honda Pilot EX-L. This receiver is confirmed to fit all trim levels of the 2022 Honda Pilot. It will also allow for spare tires with up to a 18" diameter wheel, so your T165/80D17 will still fit under the rear of your Pilot.

I do recommend installing your wiring kit at the same time you install the receiver as it does make accessing and running the wiring easier. For smaller trailers or using Auxiliary Lights # C53201 a 4-Way Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760 would be all you need. You can secure the 4-way on the rear of your Pilot using a Mounting Bracket # 18144.

For larger trailers that require electric brakes or an auxiliary power input the 7-Way Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118286 will be the kit you need. This will require a different Mounting Bracket # PK12711U to hold the 7-way connector. The Reese Trailer Connector Adapter # 78118 can be used with the 7-way to allow 4-way and 5-way connectors if you will tow multiple trailers both requiring a 7-way and 4-way.

The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR along with the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED59FR will allow for you to control the trailer brakes on trailers with up to 2 braking axles.
