Recommended Electric Trailer Jack to Hook up a Trailer to a Lifted Truck

Updated 03/03/2022 | Published 03/02/2022

Question:

Hello, I am looking to buy an electric trailer jack. My trailer was bought used and fairly old, I cant see anywhere what the tongue weight is but I do know that it is 6050lbs fully loaded. What electric jack would handle this load as well as crank the trailer high enough to put my weight distribution load stabilizing bars on with ease? My truck is limited 3 inches and has airbags, and I can not currently set up my hitch properly without towing to flat ground. My current jack cranks about 2-3 ft when its fully open and I would much rather push a button then crank by hand. Thank you

The Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack with Remote # UF38-944055 will have plenty of lifting capacity for your 6,050 lb. trailer and has the most amount of lift at 26". Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. So this jack will be able to lift your trailer and provide you with a significant amount of lift to help with hooking up to your lifted truck.
