Question:
with a empty flat bed goosenck trailer on a flat bed truck should it be level or a little higher in the front

Helpful Expert Reply:
Even when the flat bed trailer is empty it still needs to be kept level. When the trailer is level it will have even weight on each of the tires therefore not wearing them more than necessary.
As a side note, when you leave your gooseneck trailer high in the front it can cause some sway issues. Sway is not as big of an issue with gooseneck trailer, however, it is something to keep in mind.
If your trailer is level when it is loaded and the issue that you are having is the nose is high when the trailer is not loaded, I recommend making the necessary adjustments, such as adjusting the height of the coupler (if possible) so the trailer is level when it is empty. If the nose of the trailer sags when it is loaded then I recommend looking into rear suspension enhancement that works on the back axle of the truck. This way you have the best possible stability and traction when you are towing the trailer empty or loaded.
If you are interested in looking into the rear suspension options, let me know the year, make and model of your truck and I would be happy to make some recommendations.
