How To Remove Head Pin On A Solera Awning

Question:

Before I start pulling my awning apart, is the Pin in the idler head only held into the awning by the set screw in the cap?

Not quite, there is an additional screw below the wax screw in the end cap that also must be removed on the Solera Power Awning Idler Head # LC672052. From here you can remove the roll tube from the drive head. After the drive head is removed, there will be 6 additional perimeter screws and 2 screws down the mid line on the cover.

Once those screws are removed you will need to remove the three bolts that hold the motor to the awning mount, and now from here you can remove the pin.
