Question:
I have a 2017 Iron bull 5x10 dump trailer with tandem axles. The front axle shackle links keeps flipping. As far as I know all the parts are stock and not improper replacement. Should I get new equalizers of a different size to fix this? And if so which ones? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Shackle links can flip when the trailer is unloaded since there isn't enough weight to keep them in proper position, and while a new, shorter equalizer may help, the easiest thing to check is the shackle links. Shackles that are too short can cause them to flip, so the best thing to check first is the length of your shackles, and replace them with longer ones if possible.
You'll want to measure from center to center of the bolt holes to check their length, and replace them with one of the following options:
- Shackle Strap - 3-1/8" Long # TRSL313
- Shackle Strap - 3-1/2" Long # TRSL350
