Replacement Quick Grip Mount Assembly for Thule Atlantis Cargo Box

Question:

Hi! I was really excited to see that eTrailer offers this item: Replacement Quick Grip Mount Assembly - Thule Ascent, Atlantis, and Force Cargo Box. Item # TH05738 I have an Atlantis 1600 so I’m pretty sure I”m ok on figment. The issue I’m having is that the original grips won’t stay tight on the roof rails. My Jeep Grand Cherokee has factory Thule round aero bars. Will new quick grips solve this—or do I need to replace the quick grips and the track? From what I can see, the teeth in the track and the grips a fine—it just won’t stay tight on the rounded aero bars. Ironically, the roof box stays pretty much in place when installed on the Thule square bars of my other vehicle. Thanks in advance for your help today!

I will start by comfirming that the Replacement Quick Grip Mount Assembly - Thule Cargo Box item # TH05738 is the correct grip mount assembly for the Atlantis 1600 Cargo Box. I have linked a diagram detailing the dimensions of the grip that also shows its maximum capacity so you can confirm your Jeep Grand Cherokee's factory bars are not exceeding it. The grips will fit differently on the smaller square bars. I do recommend replacing your older ones in case they have lost some of their strength from years of being used.
