Question:
looking to convert from electric to hyd. over electric. I have two tandem 15 k akles. Can you provide me a complete set up. 4 brakes ,line kit and pump. One questions is can I install the higher 1600 psi pump instead of the recommended 1000psi pump. I am usually close to max weight and am getting pushed. Thank you

We can get you set up with an electric over hydraulic system for your trailer with 15,000 lb tandem axles. I will say that you will not want to go with the higher pressure 1,6000 psi actuator, which is too high for drum brakes and can potentially blow out the wheel cylinder.
What you can do though is go with a 1,200 psi actuator made for drum brakes, which will still give you excellent stopping power. Here is exactly what you will need for your set up:
- HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Drum Brakes - 1,200 psi # HBA-12
- Dexter Hydraulic Drum Brake Kit - 12-1/4" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 15K # 23-406-407
- Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12-1/4" Brake Assemblies # BRKH122510
- HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 15' Long # HS496-152 or 25' Long # HS496-252
This will be everything you need to go from electric brakes to electric over hydraulic. It's a really smart idea to convert since this is the best overall braking set up you can get for a trailer, as hydraulic brakes give you the most stopping power and electric brakes give you the quickest response time.
