Comparing Chain and L-Bracket Style Weight Distribution for 780 lbs Tongue Weight

Question:
I am looking for a weight distribution hitch for a 5500 lb trailer with a tongue weight of 780 lbs. I have looked at some of the types you have and was hoping you could the pros and cons of the friction type or chain type. Thanks,

The L-bracket/friction style of weight distribution systems like the Equal-i-zer part # EQ37100ET that you referenced work really well. Many argue this specific system is the best due to performance, ease of use, and overall reliability. They make a bit more noise due to added friction but they also have better ground clearance since the chain setups hang the bars a little lower. This would what I would go with if I was making the decision.
The chain systems like the part # RP66542 offer a little more fine tuning with spring bar tension since you can set the angle of the system head as well as the amount of links used on the chains. The lack of friction sway control might allow more sway if a wind gust were to pop up but I don't believe it would be super noticeable. Both systems would be ideal for the tongue weight of 780 lbs that you mentioned.
