Can the tow pro elite be installed on my '22 Highlander and what would I need to do so?

You can definitely install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR on your 2022 Toyota Highlander. You'll need a 4-Way and additional wiring to get you a fully-functioning 7-Way to accomplish this.
I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One wiring kit as we have found them to be the most reliable. If you have the factory tow package use part # TK74FR but if you don't have the factory tow package use part # TK99FR.
For the fully-functioning 7-Way you need to add the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 with the No-Drill Mount Bracket # C57202. This comes with all of the wiring and connections you need to completely install the brake controller.
To complete your installation I recommend using the Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-002 which installs in one of the empty switch spaces in your dash for an OEM looking install.
