This hitch has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 500lbs to easily haul your coolers or grills on a cargo carrier. It has a simple bolt-on installation with all necessary hardware included. The gloss black powder coat finish over protective base coat offers a superior rust resistance for a long lifespan.

For the cargo carrier I recommend the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500lbs # 63153. It has the following inside dimensions: 60" long x 24" wide x 5-1/2" deep and an optional light kit # 20174 if your cargo blocks the taillights of your Highlander.

To tow with your Highlander or use the optional light kit you'll need a 4-pole connector. For this I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK99FR. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the trim panel near the driver's side rear seat belt bracket.
