part #33756113500. how are the safety chain brackets installed? looks like you just drill holes and mount them permanently with springs below the bed,ie not removable

You do have the installation of the U-bolt safety chains correct for the Buyers Products 2-5/16" Fabricators Flatbed Gooseneck Hitch # 3375613500.

I have cut out and added below the section of the instructions for the # 3375613500 which details how to install them. It may be difficult to read on the page, but what it says is that you'll measure 6-1/2 inches to the left and right of the center of the socket and drill four 9/16" holes. You'll then put the U-bolts in, put the springs on them, and secure them with the included 1/2" fasteners.
