The Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR is compatible with hybrid vehicles. You can set this system into hybrid mode by following the steps listed below:

1. With the brake plugged in and turned on, use the remote to access the “FORCE” adjustment screen.

2. Use left button to lower the Force setting all the way past 0 until you see “H” for Hybrid mode.

3. Press “OK” Button.

This supplemental braking system offers precise, responsive braking in a system that can be easily switched between towed cars. The LED display lets you easily adjust braking power, apply manual override, and monitor the system from your motorhome.

My Patriot brake system was purchased from E-trailer in February 2024. I have over 4,000 tow miles on a Ford Escape PHEV. I have never had an issue with the system until recently. All settings the same, the Patriot pushes hard on the brake pedal during a normal braking on my motor home. Also the Patriot didn't release the brakes normally. I immediately had to disconnect the Patriot fearing damage would occur to the tow vehicle. It's strange, I can find warranty registration but no warranty period for this expensive brake system. I have read expensive repairs that had occurred to hybrids from supplemental systems.

@DennisA I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Blue Ox Patriot braking system. I see that you purchased it on 02/2024 and it has a 2 year warranty. Blue Ox prefers to handle their own warranty issues so I suggest reaching out to them directly. I will email you with their contact information.
