Question:

We have HD Crossbars on our trailer. What crossbar is required for the yakima skybox 21 carbonite? Doesnt seem like the clamps fit for the HD Crossbars on our trailer.

I have a great cargo box solution for you. Without knowing the exact model or dimensions of your HD bars on your trailer, the Yakima SkyBox 21 # Y07337 will fit if the crossbars do not exceed 3-1/2 inches wide x 1-11/16 inches tall. In order to confirm if they fit or not, I recommend measuring your crossbars.

If you discover that the SkyBox 21 will not fit your bars, there is unfortunately no HD adapter that will allow you to fit the clamps around the crossbars. The only other rooftop cargo box we carry that has larger width dimension compatibility for the crossbars (bars cannot exceed 3-3/4" wide x 1-3/16" tall) is the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft # TRX34FR.

If both of these options do not work for you, please feel free to provide the model of the HD bars you have or the width and height of the bars and I will provide you with a cargo solution that works for you.

@Drew If your question is about the Yakima SkyBox 21 Y07337 mounting clamps fitting around the Yakima HD Crossbars, like the 68" # Y01158, then the answer is yes, they will be compatible with each other. I think what is lost in translation is Douglas asking is they will fit "HD" bars in general. There are a wide variety of HD bars on the market so we can't really confirm a fitment without knowing what model bars they are. For example, Rhino-Rack has HD bars that are much too large for any standard accessory to fit with so in that case the answer would be no. Hopefully this helped to clear things up a bit!
