The built-in cantilever extension adds 32" of extra length past the front crossbar, creating full support for ladders, piping, and long lumber that would otherwise hang over the cab. The extension matches the same sturdy, aerodynamic crossbar design as the main rack, so airflow stays smooth and the load stays stable.
With a 1,000-lb capacity and 6000-series aluminum construction, this rack is ready for serious work. The internal web structure inside each 65" x 4" x 1-1/2" crossbar adds strength without extra weight, and the wide base on each upright keeps the rack planted under load. Even with all that strength, the 75-lb rack weight barely cuts into your truck’s payload.
The no-drill clamps slide over the bed rails and tighten down with heavy-duty aluminum U-channel hardware, making a solid connection without touching paint or bodywork. The included toolbox mounting kit uses the same clamping system and pre-drilled holes, letting you secure a crossover-style toolbox right alongside the rack.
Four heavy-duty aluminum load stops slide inside the routed crossbar channels and lock with a twist of a knob to hold cargo steady. Four side cleats mount on the uprights for extra tie-down points, giving you more ways to strap down gear that sits above or inside the bed.
The aluminum body is naturally rustproof, and Thule adds extra protection with an electrostatic powder coat followed by a clear topcoat. That dual-stage finish helps resist scratches, corrosion, and wear from years of use. The elliptical crossbars and airfoil trip strips also cut down on wind noise, so the rack stays quiet and clean-looking mile after mile.

Well designed, well built. Pretty straight forward install. A little taller than expected on the Colorado. The cantilever hardware (nuts and bolts) is different than the rack hardware which; though of no consequence structurally, should probably be addressed by Thule to standardize the install.
My shipment arrived on time , but the box I ordered was damaged. When I informed customer service , they got me a replacement shipped immediately. Great service.
In the paperwork please explain that you need to exchange the top bracket and replace with the one needed for the over cab extension
