Question:

I'm buying a 2022 Grand Design Imagine 2800BH and will be pulling it with my 2022 Ford F-150. Do I need a weight distribution hitch? I've pulled other trailers without a weight distribution hitch before but the dealership is telling me I need one. Are they just trying to get me to buy more stuff?

I highly recommend using a weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET to pull your 2022 Grand Design Imagine 2800BH. While there are some that choose not to use a weight distribution hitch when towing their camper, I recommend it for the added safety you gain. With the weight distribution hitch you can level your 2022 Ford F-150. This ensures that you do not get that light steering feel from having the rear end sagging. It also helps ensure good braking since most of your braking is done with the front wheels. The Equal-i-zer also includes sway control built in to keep your trailer tracking straight. Winds and large trucks could cause the trailer to sway left to right while driving creating a potentially severe safety risk.

To install the included 2-5/16" ball that comes with the Equal-i-zer hitch you will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to fit inside the hitch head. I have heard several complain that the hitch does make a lot of noise and concerns most drivers. They do have the Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150 that will help to cut down on the noise but do note that it may allow for sway that normally wouldn't occur since it does reduce the friction on the sway brackets.
