Can a 2010 Kia Soul with Manual Transmission be Towed Behind a Motor Home

Question:

Can the Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking System be used to flat tow a 2010 Kia Soul? I am also looking at purchasing the Blue Ox base plate BX2715 and the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar. Are all compatible for towing a Kia Soul manual transmission?

I did some research on your 2010 Kia Soul with the manual transmission and found that it can be flat towed. Models with automatic transmissions cannot be flat towed and must be towed with a tow dolly like part # RM-2050-1. I recommend checking the towing section of your owners manual for any other procedures or limitations that Kia may have to flat tow your vehicle.

The Blue Ox Patriot 3 # BLU37TR along with the # RM-9332, the Demco Base Plate Kit, # DM9518246, and the Commander Tow Bar, # DM9511012, are all compatible with your Soul and will work well for you.

One last item that you will need is tail light wiring. If you will not be towing frequently, then I recommend the Magnetic Light Kit, # RM-2120. If you will be towing frequently, then I recommend a more permanent solution like the Roadmaster Bulb and Socket Wiring Kit, # RM-155. This kit bypasses your vehicles tail light wiring, so you do not have to splice or cut into your vehicle's electrical system.
