The amperage actually should not make a difference as this is just a maximum output for 12 volt accessories and charging the battery. Everything in the trailer will be 12 volt, so it is the voltage that is important. What is most likely going on is a bad connection somewhere, a bad ground, or a blown fuse.
I always start with grounds as a bad one can cause any number of things to happen. Definitely make sure all the grounds are to a good source, are not stacked with other grounds, and the source is not aluminum (happens more than you would think). If these all look good, Check your connections.
I know this is pretty obvious, but it is also often overlooked. Just go through and make sure all connections are solid and not loose, and any plugs are seated fully.
If both of these fails or everything is secure, check for blown fuses. A sudden connection can blow a fuse even if there wasn't too much power running through it, and sometimes they are bad out of the box without being noticed. If all your fuses look good though, you will need to check the wires leading into your heater with something like the # PTW2993. If you have power going in, you will most likely need to replace it, unfortunately.
If you do not have power going into it, I would talk to the place that did the install as they didn't connect something down the line.
