Lithium Compatible Replacement for WFCO WF-8735 RV Power Converter

Question:

Hi, Im looking to replace my WFCO WF-8735 with a LiFePO4 capable converter. Ive been looking at the PD4135K as a direct replacement, but also the PD4045KA as an upgrade. Can you comment on if/when I would need the upgrade? Im pretty handy but the existing converter has worked fine minus the no Lithium thing. Thanks

The only reason you'd need to upgrade to a converter with a higher amperage rating would be if you needed more electrical capacity for your RV.

If the 35A capacity of your WFCO WF-8735 converter is sufficient for your needs other than the fact that it isn't compatible with Lithium batteries, then the Progressive Dynamics # PD4135K would be a fine choice. If you think your electrical needs might increase in the future, the # PD4045KA which is also compatible with Lithium batteries would be a good choice. Because the # PD4045KA is a bit larger, you'll need to increase the size of the rough opening, as it's 3/4 of an inch wider and 1/4 of an inch taller than the # PD4135K.
