Recommended Replacement Seal For A Tri Tec T-23972 Seal

Question:

I am trying to find replacement grease seals for my boat trailer. The original seals bear the designation Tri Tec T-23972. I cannot find this listed anywhere. By my caliper measurements, it has a 1.7235 inch inner diameter and 2.578 outer diameter.

Though I may have an option for you, I was also unable to find any info on the T-23972 seal you currently have. With that being said, the Grease Seal - Double Lip - ID 1.719" / OD 2.565" - for 3,500-lb Axles - Qty 2 # RG06-050, or # 58846 as just a single seal, is very close to your measurements. These can warp over time, which could be the cause of the differences.

One way to confirm if these are correct or not will be to check your inner bearing as well. This seal will be used on 3,500 pound axles that use the # L68149 bearing. If this isn't the bearing you have, let me know which inner and outer bearings you have and the capacity of your axle, and I can see if there is a better option for you.
