Question:

I installed the tow package on my CrossTrek and am delighted with it! I would like to find a cover for my E-Trailer towbar. I could not find any on the website or I may not be requesting the correct item. Do you carry any tow bar covers and what do you recommend? Thanx

To get your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek set up for flat towing I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-52927-5 because I think it has a slightly easier installation than some others. Then the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR paired with the Replacement Base Pins # RM-910029 to attach to the base plate. The etrailer tow bar will come with the needed safety chains. I prefer the installed braking systems because you wont have to mess with moving the system in and out of your car each time you need to tow it. The Invisibrake # RM-8700 system is a good system but I prefer the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 because it is a proportional breaking system. Which basically means that the towed car's brakes are activated at the same time and with the same intensity as those in your motor home which makes for a smoother braking experience.

A couple other things you need to flat tow would be tow bar wiring like the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will wire your vehicle to accept your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights for flat towing and the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 which allows the signal lights on your towed car to flash in tandem with the RV lights even when the vehicle's brake pedal is depressed. You may also need a hi-low adapter to get your flat tow set up level. I've attached an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop your setup requires. For your etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR, I recommend the Blue Ox Tow Bar Cover # BX88309. When testing tow bar covers on the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR, we found that the Blue Ox Tow Bar Cover # BX88309 had the best fitment.
