The spacer of the Timbren kit part # TGMRCK25S that you referenced is designed to allow you to tailor how much engagement you want from the Timbren. If you find that the ride quality is harsh because the spring is engaging too soon you'd just need to take the spacer out. If you feel like you're not getting the support you want from the kit you'd put it back in. In most cases people use the spacer.
