Determining Which Replacement Wheel Bearings Needed for SnowBear 8000 Utility Trailer
Updated 06/11/2013 | Published 06/07/2013 >
Question:
Hello, I have a SnowBear utility trailer, model 8000, that was purchased at HomeDepot in 2002. I am wanting to replace the wheel bearings, but I am unsure which bearings and parts my trailer uses. I would appreciate any help that you can offer. Regards

To find the correct replacement bearings, you will need to pull one of the hubs off and remove the inner and outer bearing to obtain the reference numbers from them. The reference number will be stamped into the steel cage holding the bearings, as seen in the provided photo. Your grease seal will also have a reference number, as shown.
If the numbers are unreadable, you can use an accurate measuring tool like a # PTW80157 digital caliper and measure the surfaces of the spindle where the inner and outer bearing and grease seal ride.
With either the reference numbers or measurements, I can recommend replacement bearings and seals.
I have linked you to a video showing how to remove the hub and inspect bearings, seals and races.
