Go Power DuraLite Portable Solar System Compatibility With A Braxton Creek Bushwhacker Plus 17BH

Question:

Hi- I have a Braxton Creek Bushwacker Plus 17BH and I’d like to purchase this 100 watt panel kit for charging the battery while dry camping. However, is this all that I need or do I need a converter? The battery is a Group 27 and the RV has the Go Power Solar Prep Package. There is a port on the drivers side photo of port attached. Thank you,

Based on the picture you provided I believe you have the SAE solar plug port on your Braxton Creek Bushwhacker Plus 17BH so you should have no issues plugging your Go Power DuraLite Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller # GP66FR in using the SAE solar plug attachment. This kit comes with a solar charge controller that prevents harmful overcharging by adjusting the power generated by the solar panel before it reaches your batteries. It uses pulse width modulation technology to regulate the output through pulses that provide a consistent charge.

This kit will recover approximately 30ah a day in peak conditions and is a simple set out and plug in installation for a quick setup. I've attached a video where Evangeline will walk you through setup.

@WhatB With your Bushwhacker being so small a portable solar panel system is going to be the best option so it really comes down to weighing price versus output. I recommend going with either the OptiMate Portable Solar Panel with Controller - 60 Watt Solar Panel # MA96JR or Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller - 90 Watt Solar Panel # 34282729. The # MA96JR can put out roughly 3 amps per hour in good conditions and the # 34282729 can put out about 4.4 amps per hour in good conditions. Both will come with an SAE connector so that you can plug them right into your factory wiring. There were a lot of trailers with SAE ports wired in reverse so you might get an error on your solar controller, if this happens then we know the port was wired incorrectly and just needs to be flipped. Personally, I prefer Go Power's systems over Optimate, but they both have very similar charge rates, accessories, and nearly identical setups so it's going to come down to what fits your budget.
