Differences in Capacity Between Trailer Hitches for 2014 Kia Sorento

We do indeed have a video showing the Curt, Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite hitches being installed on 2014 and 2015 Kia Sorento models, however the Hidden Hitch Receiver has been discontinued by the manufacturer. I've attached the videos.

The Curt # C13152 is designed to fit around the muffler on the passenger side by mounting to the inside and bottom of the frame member. The Draw-Tite model passes over the muffler on the passenger side and attach to the outboard and underside of the frame member. The receiver opening and a small amount of the tubular steel crossbar to either side will be visible with both hitches. In other words, the hitches mount to the vehicle differently, but the same portion of the hitch would be visible from the rear.

Although the Curt hitch does indeed have a higher capacity, you will still be limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle, which is 3500 lbs for V6 models or 1650 lbs for the 4 cylinder models, so any capacity the hitch might have over and above that will be unusable and therefore irrelevant.

The reason that the Draw-Tite hitch will take a bit longer to install is because the plastic under body panels will need to be trimmed to clear the hitch. The Curt model does not require that these panels be trimmed.

I would recommend the Curt model due to its lower price plus the fact that no trimming would be necessary.
